Aaron Cameron making super two debut at the Sandown 500
Australian motorsport's rising star, Aaron Cameron, is set to make his debut in the Dunlop Super2 Series at the upcoming Penrite Oil Sandown 500, representing SCHRAMM Group Racing.
Cameron, a highly promising talent in Australian motorsport, currently leads the S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship and holds the third position in this season's TCR Australia standings, boasting five race victories. He also made his presence felt by participating in the Top Ten Shootout at this year's Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race.
Hailing from Victoria, Cameron's impressive racing career includes representing Australia at the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games in France. For his debut in the Dunlop Super2 Series, Cameron will take the wheel of a former Kelly-built Ford Mustang previously used by Grove Racing.
His entry into Super2 comes with backing from SCHRAMM Group, a Queensland-based traffic management company. Additionally, EFS 4x4 Accessories will sponsor Cameron's entry, and as part of SCHRAMM's commitment to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 10 percent of the sponsorship funds will be donated to the charity.
Cameron's journey towards Super2 has been marked by determination and effort. He completed an Evaluation Test Day with Walkinshaw Andretti United at Winton late in 2021, demonstrating his commitment to advancing his career in motorsport.
Expressing his excitement, Cameron said, "It's great to be able to get a start in Super2. This is something I didn't think was going to be possible after being so close for the last couple of years. We have been working really hard to get something together for the second half of the season, and I hope Sandown is the start of a permanent spot on the Super2 grid."
Debuting at Sandown, a track near his home, Cameron is poised for strong support from family and friends as he embarks on this exciting new phase of his racing career in the Dunlop Super2 Series.
