Jake Dixon stays at Gas Gas for 2024 in moto two
GASGAS is set to make its mark in the 2024 Moto2™ season with the renewal of contracts for talented riders Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara, ensuring a formidable lineup for the GASGAS Aspar Team as they gear up for another thrilling campaign.
Currently vying for the 2023 Moto2™ championship title, Jake Dixon has been enjoying a standout season since joining GASGAS in 2021. The 27-year-old British rider has notched up an impressive record of four podium finishes and secured his maiden Grand Prix victory at the TT Circuit Assen this year. With his sights set on both his team and the 2024 championship title, Dixon's commitment promises an exciting future for the fiercely competitive category.
Nineteen-year-old Mallorcan rider Izan Guevara, the reigning Moto3™ World Champion, has been gradually adapting to the Moto2™ class. Overcoming an off-season wrist injury and acclimatizing to the new class, Guevara showcased his progress by earning his first Moto2™ points at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. As he continues his learning curve, Guevara is poised for an upward trajectory in the coming seasons.
Teaming up once again, the dynamic duo of Dixon (#96) and Guevara (#28) will spearhead GASGAS Aspar Team's assault on the Moto2™ World Championship. Jake Dixon is set to embark on his third consecutive season with the team, while Izan Guevara will embark on his fifth under the guidance of Jorge Martinez.
Reflecting on the renewed partnership, Jake Dixon expressed his excitement: "We’ve had almost two incredible seasons together so far, so I’m really excited to stay with GASGAS Aspar Team for another year. We both have goals, for the remainder of 2023 but then also full-on for 2024. We’ve regularly been in the running for podiums and wins and we’re third in the Championship at the moment, so I feel like I am in a strong place and the right place."
With GASGAS Aspar Team's potent rider lineup and their strong performances in recent seasons, anticipation is building for an electrifying 2024 Moto2™ season filled with fierce competition and exhilarating racing action.
