Tim Edwards will leave Tickford at the end of year

Long-time Tickford Racing CEO Tim Edwards to Depart at Season's End

Tickford Racing has confirmed that its long-serving CEO and Team Principal, Tim Edwards, will be leaving the Ford squad at the end of the current season. Edwards has been an integral part of the team since 2005, during its Ford Performance Racing days, and has overseen significant victories, including Bathurst wins in 2013 and 2014, and a drivers' championship in 2015.

With an impressive track record, having been at the helm for most of the team's 81 Supercars victories, Edwards' departure comes as a surprise to the motorsport community. He also notably served on the Supercars Commission, adding to his influence within the sport.

Tickford Racing recently announced a downsizing plan, reducing their cars from four to two for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship. This change is part of a strategic restructuring to pave the way for the team's future.

Edwards will stay in his role until the completion of the 2023 season. Following his departure, a comprehensive recruitment process will be initiated to identify a new CEO to lead the team into the 2024 season and beyond.

Expressing his gratitude and reflecting on his journey, Edwards said, "It has been an incredible journey to lead this team, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together." He acknowledged the collective efforts of the team, drivers, sponsors, and fans in achieving the successes.

While there has been speculation about Edwards' future plans, he clarified that his immediate agenda involves taking time off to explore Australia, spend quality time with friends and family, and reflect on the road ahead.

Rod Nash, Co-Owner and Managing Director, stated that the decision is part of the strategic restructuring of the business and an effort to welcome new leadership for the team's future. He emphasized Edwards' role in establishing a strong foundation for the team, which will undoubtedly guide Tickford Racing into the next era of motorsport.
