David Reynolds to drive for Team 18 in 2024

David Reynolds is set to join Team 18 for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, marking a significant move for both the team and the seasoned racer.

Following the departure of Scott Pye from Team 18, the team's announcement confirms Reynolds as his replacement. The 2017 Bathurst winner brings a wealth of experience to the team as he makes the transition from Penrite Racing, where he competed from 2021 after leaving Erebus.

Reynolds' move to Team 18 brings about a reunion with Mark Winterbottom, reigniting a partnership that proved successful in the past. The duo previously raced together as Prodrive (now Tickford) teammates, securing first and third positions in the 2015 season.

Furthermore, Reynolds' return to Team 18 aligns him with familiar faces in Bruin Beasley and Dennis Huijser, who hold the roles of Team Manager and Crew Chief within the team. The trio had previously collaborated at Erebus Motorsport, culminating in their triumphant Bathurst victory in 2017.

This significant announcement follows closely after the confirmation of Richie Stanaway as Reynolds' replacement at Penrite Racing, adding further intrigue to the evolving Supercars landscape. Additionally, Nick Percat's departure from Walkinshaw Andretti United has contributed to a series of significant driver changes.

For Reynolds, this move marks his third team in five seasons, having embarked on his journey with Grove Racing after his tenure at Erebus at the start of 2021. As he joins Team 18, Reynolds aims to rejuvenate his racing career, seeking to recapture his winning form, which was last achieved in 2018.

Team 18's breakthrough victory in the current Supercars season, courtesy of Winterbottom's success in Darwin, has positioned the team on an upward trajectory. With the addition of Reynolds, the team aspires to build upon its achievements and create a competitive force in the upcoming Repco Supercars Championship.
